The Truth about Planet X, Rampaging Planets, and Worlds in Collision

It triggers earthquakes. It rips open volcanoes, and unleashes massive tsunamis. They say it can kick the Earth’s axis over, pushing Africa to the pole and Antarctica to the equator. It may even stop our planet from rotating! Or worse: peel the Earth’s crust off, tear our planet to bits. Or perhaps it simply sweeps our world aside, pushing it into the Sun. That’s the way it goes when suddenly, a HUGE planet zooms by. They say...

They say...

Planet X is supposedly the tenth, the eleventh, or the twelfth  planet of our solar system (depending upon whom you believe).

It should be as big as many Earths, dwarfing it perhaps even hundreds of times. Some people think X isn’t even a real planet, but a `brown dwarf’: a massive ball of dust and gas that almost succeeded in becoming a star. Planet X has something no other planet has: a huge orbit. Its orbit around the Sun lasts 3,600 years.  Most of the time, it is far off, invisible to the eye. But every 3,600 years, the lost planet returns. Once here, it accelerates, and swings close past the Sun, disrupting everything it encounters.

And that’s exactly what Planet X is about to do, they say. In early 2002, it was said to be somewhere in the outer regions of the solar system, still invisible to our telescopes. But in the spring of 2003, it was to suddenly make its appearance.

By Fall of 2002, Planet X would reach the inner regions of the solar system, disturbing the eclipses of the planets and bombarding us with comets. In May, it would pass Earth, missing it only at a few hairs’ lengths. Or, well: hitting us at full force perhaps, only to fly off again, not to be seen for another 3,600 years.

Planet X: The Real Story

Nothing of the scope predicted happened at all in 2003.

You see, Planet X is like the perfect myth: the outcome of centuries of ill-omened rumors, laced with snippets of history and cosmology.

IWhere are the rings of Saturn in this "Seal" anyway?t all began with a tablet of clay, uncovered in the Near East many years ago. On the tablet, the Sumerians, the earliest known inhabitants of the Middle East, jotted down something that looked like a solar system. Earth was there, and Saturn, and Jupiter -- as well as all other planets we know of today.

But hey, aren’t there supposed to be nine planets? The clay tablet clearly displays eleven. The tenth one could be the moon, or the newly discovered mini-planet Quaoar.

But that still leaves you with one planet too many.

Weird, isn’t it?

Next came the astronomers. From the 1840s until deep into the 1980s, astronomy was haunted by a strange mystery. Something was not right with the orbits of the outer planets. Something really heavy seemed to be tugging at the outer planets Uranus and Neptune. Certain asteroids felt the mysterious pull, too. Must be an enormous planet out there, many astronomers assumed. Or several planets, even.

Thus began the search for "Planet X".

The Search for Planet X

Percival Lowell, who is most well known as a proponent for canals on Mars, called this hypothetical planet "Planet X" (X for unknown). He performed two searches for it, without success, the first ending in 1909, and the second started in 1913 after revising his prediction for where it should be found. This search ended in 1915, after which Lowell published his theoretical results parameters for Planet X.

Ironically, at his observatory that very same year, two faint images of Pluto were recorded, but not recognized as a planet until after the discovery of Pluto in 1930.

Search conclusion

Pluto was originally thought to be Planet X, but Pluto's mass was not sufficient to explain Neptune's orbit, so the search continued. However these apparent discrepancies were resolved when the Voyager 2 space probe discovered that Neptune's mass had been miscalculated; with Neptune's newly discovered mass taken into account, there was no longer a need for any new planet to explain Neptune's orbit.

There appeared to be no mystery planet involved at all. Neither is there some mysterious force pulling on Neptune’s orbit. The astronomers simply had their orbit calculations wrong.

By now, no serious astronomer believes in Planet X anymore.

Exit Planet X...almost.

Enter the New Agers and the host of charlatans riding on the the coattails of their commercial success.

Freud would be proud! One of the first proponents of the idea of a rogue "Planet X' was a Russian born immigrant named Immanuel Velikovsky, a practicing psychoanalyst who had studied under Freud's pupil, Wilhelm Stekel in Vienna.

His educational roots in the Black Art of Psychiatry betray his spiritual blindness, but gave him an understanding of human motivations which allowed him to craft his theories to suit the tastes of his audiences.

The most prominent New Age writer propounding the myth of "Planet X" today, is also Russian. He is a scientist named  Zecharia Sitchin, who maintains that the bible is not the inspired word of God but instead, the bastardized version of a BABYLONIAN TEXT!

According to Sitchen in his book on the subject "the 12th Planet", we must be prepared for the imminent return of an alien race "who created us some 300,000 years ago".

Sadly, the state of what is known as "Christianity" today is so poor in knowledge of and faith in God's word that rather than reprove the "unfruitful works of darkness" associated with the "New Age" teachings of Mystics, Gnostics, and Heretics (Ephesians 5:11), they have fellowship with them!

Despite the fact that even Zecharia Sitchin himself teaches that this "Planet X" is a long way off (some 1,600 years into the future), soLloyd paints a frightening picture called "Bible Believers" have become bedfellows with "Alien Channelers" such as Nancy Leider who made claims that this planet would appear in 2002, and then (when that proved to be false) in the Spring (then summer) of 2003.

One "Christian" website published the following statement: "According to Russian scientist Zacharia Sitchin, it could soon fly past Earth, and may cause what some scholars and scientists feel could become a human catastrophe -- on a Biblical scale!"

Sitchen has not made the statement attributed to him, and the "scholars and scientists" used to add credibility to this statement were of course unnamed.

Listen to the audioIf you doubt what I am telling you, you can click on the picture (to the right) to hear for yourself what Sitchen himself said to contradict such statements.

There are the words of the same man whom they quoted to support their contention than 2003 would be the year which this rogue planet would devastate the Earth!

The source of this prediction is obviously then not Sitchin himself, but another source of dubious quality. It appears to stem from predictions published on the popular web site "Zeta Talk", owned by Nancy Lieder, a middle-aged woman of doubtful sanity, who claims to be channeling telepathic messages from aliens who reside in Zeta Reticuli system.

Her website "Zeta Talk" alleged in 1995, among other things, that Hale-Bopp was "not a comet." This would come as quite a surprise to those of us that viewed it our night skies for several months in 1997

"Zeta Talk" also predicted several years ago that massive crop failures in the years 2000, 2001 and 2002, which would herald the coming of Nibiru in 2003.

This has not occurred. Clearly, "Zeta Talk's" record on predictions is far from accurate.

Still, many "believers" have repeated the claim that this "Planet X" has already been sighted in the night sky, although some have been forced to conclude that it seems to have "disappeared".

Some explain its "disappearance" from the sky by (mis)using scripture in this fashion:

Revelation 17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

Others are so resolute in their belief in this hoax, that they claim that Planet X is a "major key" in understanding the mysteries of Bible prophecy, claiming (without any supporting scripture or other data) that the Book of Revelation "completely confirms" the existence of Planet X, and contains some sort of hidden code which is necessary to understand if Christians are to survive the event.

Consider the following statement taken from a "Christian" Planet X site:

Therefore, if you think Planet X is a hoax, you probably are not aware that the Book of Revelation completely confirms the "Planet X Passage" tale. In fact, Planet X is a major key to finally unseal the book of Revelation so that its warning of what is coming can finally be understood—along with its hidden instructions on how to survive it.

It is interesting to note that neither a personal relationship with Christ, nor a fear of God and a willingness to obey Him and follow his commandments is mentioned as being the primary method of salvation. A belief in Planet X seems to supercede a belief in Christ Jesus.

The same website goes on to state:

In other words, the Great Tribulation is not the first prophesied trouble to happen from which we will need to escape—Planet X is!

This doctrine is as dangerous to the believer as is the Pre-tribulation Rapture belief itself.

The mainstream fallacy is that Christians will be "raptured" before the coming of Antichrist and the Great Tribulation. Of course to these people when such things appear, they will be not be recognized for what they are because the mind of such people will reason that since (A) no rapture has yet occurred, (B) no Tribulation nor Antichrist could be a present reality.

The same course of reason would then follow for "Planet Xers" that since (A) no Planet X  has yet appeared, (B) no Tribulation nor Antichrist could be a present reality.

There is another superstition which keeps close company with the "Planet X" stories. This is the idea of a "pole shift" , which was put forth more than 70 years ago by a "psychic" known as Edgar Cayce. Cayce's writings not only concern a "pole shift", but the re-appearance of the "lost continent of Atlantis".

According to Cayce, in the period of time between 1958 and 2001, the North magnetic pole and the South magnetic pole should have switched polarities. This means that a compass should read the opposite of what it does today, because of the dramatic earth changes.

So the question arises, if the Planet X doctrine and its other associated false belief systems can be tied so clearly and easily to other false teachings of the occult, how is it that so many professing "Christians" refuse to recognize the facts?

It is simply because they find great pleasure in the "entertainment value" of such fables that they are willing to be deceived, preferring to embrace lies and the iniquity of mysterious doctrines rather than the straight forward truth of the scriptures.

The Bible speaks of this phenomena as the "mystery of iniquity" and explains it in the following way in 2nd Thessalonians 2:7-12:

For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Some may protest that this verse speaks of the Pre-tribulation Rapture doctrine or some other heresy, but it should be noted that the verse does not limit God to one specific delusion. There are many delusions associated with mainstream Christianity alone (the so called "eternal security" doctrine, the Papal infallibility doctrine etc.) which are facilitated by the believers desire to embrace the teachings of men over the written Word of God.

Is it any wonder that the Bible tells us the following in Mark 13:22?

For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

Even others may protest that their favorite Planet X peddlers could not possibly seduce them because they preach against the Pre-tribulation Rapture, the eternal security doctrine, Preterism and the like. How could a man (or woman) who tells us "Jesus is Lord" possibly be a deceiver?

Read Mathew chapter 24 for the answer.

The disciples desired to know the "sign" of his second coming, and Christ answered them in verses 4 and 5 of that chapter:

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

And indeed, so many have come in the name of Christ saying that Jesus is indeed the true and living Son of God, only to fleece the hapless, unwary sheep.

And the fleecing of the sheep is a big business today. There exists at this very moment a product targeted to suit any individual Christian taste our society allows.

There are Jesus books, Jesus tapes, Jesus toothbrushes, Jesus frisbees, Jesus coffee cups, Jesus dolls, Jesus clothing.

And the list goes on forever.

Planet X is simply another product which panders to another taste in that great target audience called "Christianity".

The evidence shows that the most powerful force exerted by Planet X on our world today is the force of commerciality.

There are Planet X books, Planet X tapes, Planet X videos, Planet X bicycles. Planet X Clothing, and just about every other type of merchandise associated with "Ministry merchandise" you can think of.

Sadly, it is the perhaps one of the worst aspect of a personal testimony to the unsaved that a "Christian" can have; a belief in a new age doctrine that sounds like it should have died with the "Creature from the Black Lagoon" in the 1950's, which keeps standing up all her suitors.

Planet X is a blind date which never should have been expected to show in the first place.

Planet X has sold a lot of merchandise, and despite the fact that it has yet to appear anywhere except in catalogs, bookstores, videos, and on radio shows, it seems to be going as strong as ever.

While would be believers fall away as they begin to smell the truth about this hoax, and while so called believers continue to maintain their faith in that which will never be, the unsaved world continues to mock the true Christian faith because of the testimony of the followers of the cult of Planet X.

Modern believers are without excuse in following these damnable new age heresies, as they have been warned in that book which they all claim to love, but refuse to read with an honest heart, preferring to clamor after those who covet their money, who make themselves whores to a willing customer base in a commercial relationship which masquerades as Christianity.

The Apostle Peter writing in 2nd Peter Chapter 2:1-4, describes this commercial relationship and the spiritual fruit it bears in this way.

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

The proliferation of cheap, tasteless products associated with our savoir and marketed to "dumb as doorknob" "believers" should wake any serious follower of Christ in the end times to the commercial hoaxes being peddled in the name of God such as planet X.

But what about earthquakes, tsunamis, and other cataclysmic events seen in the world today? Aren't they proof of the imminent appearance of this rogue Planet X?

The answer to that question is contained in the next chapter of this examination of "Planet X".
