Nimrod, Obama and the Antichrist.

One need not be a seer to recognize that Barack Obama's life is in danger. From drug addled meth heads, to victims of racist mindset, plots against the life of Barack Obama are almost as common fleas on a dog.

Former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura warned Barack Obama to be wary of a potential assassination attempt during an interview in April 2008. According to British Nobel literature laureate Doris Lessing, some would assassinate Barack Obama if he became president of the United States. Obama "would certainly not last long, a black man in the position of president. They would murder him." The Christian Underground has likewise voiced the possibility of similar scenarios about Barack Obama since the spring of 2008.

Such conspiracy theories had not long to wait for confirmation. Shawn Adolph, Tharin Gartrell, Nathan Johnson and Natasha Gromack had come to Denver to kill Obama during the Democratic National Convention of 2008. Another such plot in Arkansas, has 20 year old Daniel Cowart, entering into a conspiracy with 18 year old Paul Schlesselman, involving not only the assassination of Barack Obama, but a national killing spree of another 88 African Americans.

The question raised here is: Could Barack Obama be the beast which receives the deadly wound, only to be healed miraculously?

Revelation 13:1 Describes the rise of what some believe to be the final world leader, often called “Antichrist.”

And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

This “Antichrist” has been identified by numerous “Bible teachers”, “experts” and “prophets” as being one of a number of contemporary leaders, international figures and NGO aparatchicks, from the heir to the British throne, to a relatively obscure Egyptian diplomat. Few consider comparing the Bible with the historical record for clues.

Clues to Antichrist

We do have some information upon which to base tentative assumptions.

In Revelation 13:3, we are given a picture of a leader having global dominance and we see what would appear to be an assassination attempt upon this “Antichrist.”

And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

We do also know that he is evil and we are told in Revelation 19:20 that he does not die, nor does his accomplice, but both are cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

In 2nd Thessalonians chapter 2, Paul addressed the fears of some in the church, who upon hearing rumors containing false teaching, became concerned as to whether they might have missed the return of our Savior and their gathering together to Him. In that address, Paul also wrote about the coming world leader, to whom we now refer generally as the “Antichrist”, calling him the “Man of sin” and “ son of perdition”.

Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and [by] our gathering together unto him That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand., Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition

In prayer, Christ himself used this phrase “son of perdition”, to describe Judas Iscariot, who upon receiving the spirit of Satan, betrayed Christ for a reward. (John 17:12) It would appear as though Satan, in yet another copycat episode, would enter into this Antichrist, just as he had entered into Judas, only this time, Judas would not be the follower, but would be the leader.

In the book of Matthew, we are give these almost cryptic comments by our Savior:

Matthew 19:30 But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.

Matthew 20:16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

Considering the identity of the last world leader (Antichrist) in the context of the two preceding verses, one is naturally led to determine the identity of the first world leader. The very first earthly kingdom ever mentioned in the Bible, was the kingdom of Noah's great-grandson Nimrod, which was constructed after the deluge. In Genesis, the Bible states the following about Nimrod:

Genesis 10:8. And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. 9. He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.

The small word here rendered by the translators into the English word, “before” can be misleading by contextual ambiguity. The word “before” used in this verse is the word “paniym” (Strong's H#6440) which means; “face” or in the context of this passage, “in God's face.” This is also the same word used in Genesis 6:11; “The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.”

Nimrod was brazen in his contempt for God, as Flavius Josephus records:

“Now it was Nimrod who excited them to such an affront and contempt of God. He was the grandson of Ham, the son of Noah, a bold man, and of great strength of hand. He persuaded them not to ascribe to God, as if it was through his means they were happy, but to believe that it was their own courage which procured that happiness. He also gradually changed the government into tyranny, seeing no other way of turning men from the fear of God, but to bring them into a constant dependence on his power. He also said he would be revenged on God, if he should have a mind to drown the world again; for that he would build a tower too high for the waters to be able to reach' and that he would avenge himself on God for destroying their forefathers!” ― Flavius Josephus JEWISH ANTIQUITIES, (circa AD 94) B. I. ch. 4. sect. 2. William Whiston Translation

It is also worth noting, that Nimrod was the first (this side of the great deluge) to use brick and that he used it to build a tower in contempt of God. The phrase “…let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth” is a clear reference to the concept of nationality. Nimrod and his confederates were attempting to build no less than a global government and that tower would be a reminder to all of the power of man reigning over that of God. It is notable that Nimrod said he would be “revenged on God.” This is the identical spirit one would expect to seen in an Antichrist.

And well it may, as an archetype of Freemasonry probably dates back to the first attempt at a one world government during the time of Nimrod, who was the first great builder recorded in the Bible. Nimrod is credited with the construction of the tower of Babel, and is considered by many Masons to be the traditional founder of operative masonry. Nimrod's wife was named Semiramis and their son was named Tammuz. Though the names have changed overtime and place, this trinity of man, woman and son has been the basis of sun worship or goddess worship under the guise of the host of heaven, the sun, moon and stars since antiquity.

Some sources suggest that the tower of Babel was also an astronomical observation platform for the veneration of the heavenly bodies, which even now bear the names those ‘men of renown.' According to Alexander Hyslop, for his contempt of God, Nimrod was cut to pieces by his grand-uncle Shem, who then scattered the pieces. After the death of Nimrod, his empire lived on as many followed his lead and ruled ancient city-states under a feudalistic system planted upon high ground, in contempt of God. Would this contempt indeed see Nimrod worshipped as God?

The contemporary Wiccans of the western Europe and America have strong ties to goddess worship and are sometimes referred to as the “Goddess movement,” “Goddess Spirituality,” or (as with the Masons) “the Craft.” According to Miriam Simos (or Starhawk her name de plume), who wrote the book THE SPIRAL DANCE: A REBIRTH OF THE ANCIENT RELIGION OF THE GREAT GODDESS (1979), the Wiccan form of goddess worship is "perhaps the oldest religion extant in the West.” Within the body of the book, she explains her religious outlook to the novice. Apparently she worships two deities, one male and one female, "the Mother Goddess, the birthgiver, who brings into existence all life,” and the "Horned God,” who is somewhat reminiscent of Nimrod because he is depicted as a hunter who dies and is resurrected every year afresh. Male shamans are "dressed in skins and horns in identification with the god and the herds,” while the priestesses embody “the fertility of the Goddess.” Miriam Simos' goddess was also known as a “triple goddess” and may tie to the well known “virtues” of faith, hope and charity in the form of maiden, mother and crone although she is fundamentally one entity. According to Ms. Simos, the religion is tied to seasonal cycles which yearly practice the "eight feasts of the Wheel": the solstices, the equinoxes, and four other festivals namely Imbolc (February 2,), Beltane (May Day), Lammas or Lughnasad (in early August), and Samhain (Halloween).

The Egyptian god Osiris was the ancient god of Egypt, who predated most of the gods of the land including Ra or Re. Though his exact origin is unclear because of the many myths and legends about him, Osiris seems to have been known all around the Mediterranean with his own handiwork attesting to his presence. In one version of the story of Osiris, Greek historian Plutarch recounts that Osiris' brother Set sealed Osiris in a box, which he then threw into the Nile; Osiris' wife, Isis, then found him embedded in a tree trunk, which was used as a support for the roof of a palace in Byblos on the Phoenician coast. Osiris being dead, was revived by Isis so he could impregnate her after which he died again, and Isis buried his body. Coming across Osiris' body, Set cut the body into fourteen pieces and scattered them. In the opinion of this author, the author David Hatcher Childress correctly theorizes the identity of Osiris:

“Suddenly, in view of the advanced and ancient civilization in the Mediterranean, the mystery of some of the awesome and inexplicable sites around the Mediterranean, such as Ba'albek [in Lebanon], does not seem quite so mysterious after all.... This theory of Ba'albek being some remnant of the Osirian Empire, along with some of the other megalithic sites in the Mediterranean, fits in well with the Arab legend that the massive stone blocks were built a short time after the Flood, at the order of the legendary King Nimrod, by a "tribe of giants." King Nimrod, and Poseidon, are just other names for Osiris of Egyptian mythology.”—David Hatcher Childress, LOST CITIES AND ANCIENT MYSTERIES OF AFRICA & ARABIA (1997)

Ah, yes there he is—Nimrod the man who made himself a ruler of men, and who shook his fist at the Almighty wherein he vowed to avenge himself upon God. This discovery by Childress makes a compelling case as to where the giants came from after the flood. Given his motivation, perhaps Nimrod had figured out how to conjure the spirits of the giants or to reanimate them and pollute the seed of mankind once more in an attempt to re-initiate that “Golden Age” or “First Time” of mankind when the “thoughts of men were continually evil.”

The idea that the Antichrist could be a reiteration of Nimrod is reasonable enough, but who today has any personal characteristics which are shared with Nimrod?

If one looks to the Bible for Nimrod's historical lineage, one finds that his father was a man by the name of Cush. Cush was the father of the Kushites, who resided in what is now Ethiopia. Misraim, was Cush's brother and of greater interest, miz rai'm is the Hebrew name for Egypt—literally, "the two lands,” referring to upper and lower Egypt. The Bible confirms that Nimrod was a product of Cush and that he built many cities.

Genesis 10:8 And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. 10:9 He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD. 10:10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. 10:11 Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah, 10:12 And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same [is] a great city. 10:13 And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim, 10:14 And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (out of whom came Philistim,) and Caphtorim.

The most persuasive evidence that all of the most ancient megalithic sites in and around the Mediterranean were all built by the followers of one man—Nimrod, was their consistent relationship with the stars—particularly the constellation of Orion, and only one nation —Egypt, could have preserved such knowledge over all those years through its secret society of the priests of Heliopolis. The constellation of Orion even portrays a mighty hunter—‘before' the Lord. Nimrod as the first king, set the example which other kings have followed.

THE "LEGEND" OF NIMROD

THE universal sentiment of the Masons of the present day is to confer upon Solomon, King of Israel, the honor of being their "first Grand Master." But the Legend of the Craft had long before, though there was a tradition of the temple extant, bestowed, at least by implication, that title upon Nimrod, the King of Babylonia and Assyria. It had attributed the first organization of a fraternity of craftsmen to him, in saying that he gave a charge to the workmen whom he sent to asist the King of Nineveh in building his cities. That is to say, he framed for them a Constitution, and, in the words of the Legend, "this was the first tyme that ever Masons had any charge of his science." It was the first time that the Craft were organized into a fraternity working under a Constitution or body of laws; and as Nimrod was the autocratic maker of these laws, it results as a necessary consequence, that their first legislator, legislating with dictatorial and unrestricted sovereign power, was also their first Grand Master. ”THE HISTORY OF FREEMASONRY (1898) Albert G. Mackey ch. xii.

From what is recorded about Nimrod by Flavius Josephus, one can surmise that Nimrod lived to antagonize God. Yet, he was the inspiration for many civilizations in and around the Mediterranean, built solely to glorify the Adversary of God.

Being the grandson of Ham and the Son of Cush, Nimrod was of dark complexion or as we say today, black. We do have one black (and at the time of this writing, future) world leader in place: United States president elect, Barack Obama. If the soon anticipated Antichrist does indeed make an abrupt appearance in a world in crisis, will he be more suited to that role than is Barack Obama?

The author does not attempt to engage in the parlor game of “predict the event” nor endeavors to sow wild speculation, but merely strives to point out how the events of the past and the circumstances of the present, may well be portents of the future.
