The true story of James Lloyd doing business as Christian Media Network

 

James Lloyd suffers from a massive persecution complex and being very self centered, hes has great difficulty not taking things personally. Every difficulty however so slight, is seen as a personal attack upon him by the Devil. The "swirling evil  surrounds us", "We are under attack", and "The Devil is coming at us from every side" are  constant themes at Christian media. Never once is the trial and tribulation Lloyd "suffers" examined to see if God may not "chastening his own", nor is it seen as possibly being a consequence of their own actions.

 

Upon listening to him for any length of time, one will discover from his public proclamations, that James Lloyd is ALWAYS RIGHTeous. God may reprove His own, but at Christian Media®, God only blesses, and is never seen as chastening.

 

It can only be Satan causing James trouble, and who it seems, has more power at Christian Media® than that with which he is credited in the scriptures.

 

A lot of this of course is meant to engender sympathy from listeners who will donate money to him, but a very significant portion comes from his legendary sense of self importance. It is all reminiscent of the days when the Popes of Rome believed themselves to have supreme authority over all matters temporal and spiritual, which had the effect of convincing them that they were the rightful heirs of the Caesars of the Roman Republic, and entitled to the great majesty that Christians are told belongs to God alone.

 

Any challenge to their perceived authority was seen as blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, and deserved a swift and severe punishment. James has on numerous occasions intimated the same, that opposing him is tantamount to blaspheming the Holy Spirit of God. He is (in his mind) a potentate who has a Divine Right to lord over the flock at his own will and fancy.

 

My sensitivity to this became so acute, that I began to leave the studio while James was on the air to dub tape sets between commercial breaks, in an effort to keep just a small portion of whatever was left of my sanity. I had to admit to myself the very thing I had known in my heart for so long, but refused to articulate: The Emperor of Christian Media who imagined himself to be arrayed in all manner of exquisite apparel, in reality had no clothes.

 

To exploit the fears and the ignorance of people for gain, exhibits the worst part of the "natural man", but to do it in the name of God, shows no fear of Him, nor of the Judgment promised. I do not know what crystal ball James has been using to justify such false prophecies, but I do know what he sees when he looks into it.
